Bee Hives collecting honey on top of a family mausoleum

Oak Hill Cemetery is a historic cemetery located in the Georgetown neighbourhood of Washington, D.C. It was founded in 1848 and completed in 1853.

On my walk on this particular day, I discovered bee hives on top of a family mausoleum. I’m sure the honey is wonderful with the natural surroundings and the abundance of plant life in Oak Hill.

*Oak Hill Cemetery Chapel or Renwick Chapel is considered an excellent example of Gothic Revival architecture, and often called a “miniature Gothic gem”
