Earth to earth, ashes to ashes, returning remains to the earth…naturally

I assisted in a natural burial in the eastern part of the Greater Toronto Area today. It was a peaceful and respectful experience.

A natural burial is usually described as burying a body (usually only in a shroud) in the ground that allows the body to decompose naturally and return to the earth.

A natural burial that occurred earlier in the summer.

Names of those who had a natural burial are inscribed on one of four upright granite monuments near the area of the natural burial.
