“I recently visited Notre-Dame-des-Neiges Cemetery, founded in 1854 and nestled on the slopes of Mount Royal in Montreal.

With over a million burials, it holds the distinction of being the largest cemetery in Canada and the third-largest in North America. It’s a place of immense history and quiet reverence, where generations rest beneath tree-lined avenues and sculpted monuments.

For comparison, the largest cemetery in North America by number of burials is Calvary Cemetery in Queens, New York, where more than 3 million people are laid to rest.
