Sweet Daddy Siki (Elkin James) – 1933–2024

Elkin James, better known by his ring name Sweet Daddy Siki, was a legendary American-Canadian professional wrestler, country and western singer, karaoke host, and friend to many. Born in Montgomery, Texas, Siki carved out a unique path in life—one defined by charisma, talent, and spirit both inside and outside the wrestling ring.

In the 1980s, anyone entering the Canadian National Exhibition (CNE) in Toronto using Dufferin Street might remember passing a striking purple hearse parked just north of the Dufferin Gates. That hearse belonged to none other than Sweet Daddy Siki. It was a perfect match for his flamboyant and unforgettable personality.

Beyond wrestling, Siki was a talented country and western singer, and a longtime karaoke host, endearing himself to generations at The Duke Live on Queen Street East, where he held weekly karaoke nights.

Sweet Daddy Siki passed away on December 31, 2024, at the age of 91. He was cremated at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Toronto.
