Remembering a dedicated firefighter with a stunning bronze statue

On my walk at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Toronto I discovered “The statue”, designed by renowned Vancouver artist, Dean Lauze, which was made to resemble Jason Churchill and took over a year to create.

Jason Churchill was a firefighter who sadly died of cancer in 2015.  The seven-foot bronze was installed as a tribute to his life’s work and outstanding leadership in firefighting.
